Upon Fiona’s observation, Imogen felt a bit defensive. She forced a smile at Fiona, hoping there wasn’t venom in her words. “I’m not nervous, I know. I’m glad to be here.” She was indignant. Stopping herself from wincing, Imogen placed another hand over Fiona’s, doing her best to prove to her that things had not changed, they were perfectly fine. There wasn’t a veil of tension hovering in the air, no of course not. “But you said that you needed to talk? That you needed me here…” Imogen pressed on, but felt annoying as she did. At Fiona’s question, she knew the answer. “I’ve been good, lonely. I’ve missed your company, too.” At this, she perked up a bit, noticing slight changes in Fiona’s appearance and demeanor.

“I just… I-I needed a friend, that’s all.” Fiona said, stumbling over her words. “K-Katie’s not doing too well. I-I’m taking her to the doctor s-soon.” She said, hating how stupid she sounded. She wanted to just keep her mouth shut forever so she’d never have to hear the stupid stutter she’d recently developed. She bit her lip, hoping Imogen didn’t think she sounded as stupid as she herself thought. “Not tired of me yet?” Fiona smirked, happy to get one sentence out without a stutter for once. “T-that’s good. I’m glad you’re d-doing o-okay,” She said, getting more angry at herself as the stutter continued to dictate her speaking. “I’m glad you came over.” Fiona whispered, missing her companionship with Imogen. She hadn’t seen her since the after the incident when she’d gotten angry with her. It seemed as if it was so long a time to go without seeing her best friend, when in reality it was most likely only a few weeks. She couldn’t be sure though, she’d lost all concept of time lately.
